By Terry Morehouse

Congratulations to Terry Morehouse for being named a 2022 finalist for the Midwest Book Awards!

September 14, 2021

In this fourth book of reflections, you will listen to the stories and meet some of the people who have been a part of the story of one pastor who believed that God had called him to a special task.  “God’s Shalom” (Hebrew for peace) has never always been what we might think it should be.  It’s deeper, full of surprises, more complex and comprehensive, than our human understanding.  Hopefully you will experience glimpses that the author has shared with other people along life’s way, and be touched with God’s peace yourself as you read it.

Terry Morehouse is the author of three other books of reflections, Fellow Travelers, The Road Goes On, and Traveling Home, many of which began as a part of a weekly radio broadcast for Mount Olivet Lutheran Church, in Minneapolis Minnesota.  After nearly 27 years and 1378 broadcasts called “Faith Alive” he retired in 2020 from that special ministry.  Each of his books has been published by Kirkhouse Publishers, now in Bloomington, Minnesota.

He has been an ordained pastor of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America since 1967.

He and his wife Joan live in Waconia, Minnesota and they are the parents of three daughters, Kristina  Madigan, Michelle Morehouse , and Amy Abrahamson, and the very proud grandparents of eight mostly “above average” grandchildren.

As was the case with his other writings, all proceeds above the cost of publication will be donated to the ELCA World Hunger and Disaster Relief program of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.  He would like to thank all of his listeners and readers through the years of his ministry for their support and once again wish you “Shalom- Until we gather once again.”
