Taylor Staples is a Minnesota-based epic fantasy author who balances her creative writing career with service in the Minnesota Air National Guard.

She introduced readers to Kadyia’s world in her debut novel, Kadyia and the Dragon Tamers Book One: The Academy. Her work has since received recognition including a Silver Medal at the Midwest Book Awards and a Finalist Award at the Book Excellence Awards.

Outside of writing and her military service, Staples embraces what she describes as her “nerdy side.” She enjoys anime, reading, video games, and spending time with friends and family.

Those interests fit naturally with the imaginative worlds she creates—stories filled with dragons and magic, but grounded in friendship, loyalty, courage, and the difficult choices people make when circumstances push them beyond what they thought they could handle.
